 The badge glinted on his chest,
He was one of the finest, America's best.
His oath was to protect and serve.
He would not fail, could not swerve.
He stood for what was good, for a worthy cause.
Continuing a battle fought without pause.
No task too little, no challenge too great
he carried the fight to heavens own gate.
His yesterday gone, no today, no tomorrow
but hearts ripped apart by unending sorrow.
Like falling leaves the years drift away
Only pain and the grief seem to stay.
Another hero had to fall
Another name to add to The Wall.
