THE POLICE OFFICER

Were you at the Police Memorial today?
A beautiful sight while music played,
To honor police officers who gave their lives,
Keeping us safe,do you even care that they died?

We take for granted what they do,
And not often enough do they hear a thank you!
Out on the streets day and night,
Will they get home safe and be alright?

Trying hard to be strong and hail,
It's not pleasant putting someone in jail.
Child abuse,drugs,gangs and the lot,
Pray they get home safe, without being shot!

The "thin blue line" holds them strong,
And they grieve together when Death takes one "Home"
The "Supreme Sacrifice" they have given,
I know in my heart "GOD" has them in heaven!

Think long and hard of what they do,
Out on the streets for me and you.
Don't be so ready to make a "FUSS"
Remember "ALL" they're out there for us !

So when you see a squad go by,
How about a "Friendly" hi!
Let them "all" know a job well done,
For you see it might be my Son.
