A HUG AND A KISS
By Angela McMinn

I ran down the street to kiss you good bye. My last kiss to my beloved daddy. At ten years old i did not know what a routine call was, but i was soon to learn there is no routine call. You went to arrest a man you had arrested many times before without any trouble. But this time was different.

You got in the patrole car and drove away. You aproached this repeat offender as he sat on the porch drinking a beer, with a shotgun in his lap.

As you talked to him he got up went into the house and as you walked toward the door he blew you away, you did not stand a chance.

Daddy thank you for that hug and kiss you'll never know how much it meant to me.
