TRIBUTE STORIES

YOUR CHILDREN HAVE YOUR SMILE
By Tina Ford

He was known to everyone as "Billy" or "B.O." And was remembered mostly by his smile. Billy was a police Officer for only 4 years when he was responding to a Shots Fired Call in a dangerous part of town. It wasn't even his area to patrol but that was what everyone liked about him, he was always there when you needed him. The call was a false call and Billy was driving on the boulevard with his lights and sirens going and another driver cut in front of him so to avoid hitting her he swerved the cruiser and hit the median and flipped the car 3 times to his demise.

Billy and I had 3 beautiful children together and they are growing so fast He has been gone now for 8 years. The oldest is now turning 17 (a son) and the others are a son 14 years old and a daughter that is 12.The boys are active in sports and our daughter is a dancer. They were very young but the boys have more memories than our daughter, but Billy is always kept alive in our home, by pictures and momentos.

I have since moved on with my life and remarried and have a beautiful 2 year old son that is adored by his siblings. My husband is a wonderful man who also knew Billy and worked with him. But that place that Billy holds inside of me will always be with me. My children remind me of the young girl of 14 that fell in love with the high school football player and grew to love him greatly and have 3 wonderful children.

Billy was loved by the community and always had a smile for everyone and was remembered that way at his memorial for just his SMILE. I am grateful for this site for being able to share my story with someone who may be finding it hard to go on with their life. You can love again, not in the same way but you can learn to love and share yourself with someone. Billy is missed everyday by his children and his family, But he will most certainly not ever be forgotten.

We will love you forever Billy
Tina, your children and your family and many friends.
